Kent County ARES
We have a new electronic registration process for people interested in being part of the ARES group in Kent County. A few notes about the ARES program: - We do not require a criminal history check of members as of November 2007 - The only requirement is a will to serve and an amateur radio license - All HAMs are invited to the program living with Kent County - ARES members are used for public service events, "non-secure" locations, severe weather spotting, CERT communications support and Disaster related activities. - ARES members are encouraged to take independent study trainings provided free of charge from FEMA - The ARES program uses amateur radio operators from around the community. - This program is for radio operators NOT already involved with ARES / RACES / CERT.
